Dear It's Ok,
A close family member, not one ever to be stopped in her tracks, was known to say upon an attempted entry into an unauthorized area, "It's okay, I'm a nurse." Absolute sincerity and determination of purpose.
Yours truly,

earlier today i was thinking back to some of my old friends i had while living in minnesota, and attending the pine city congregation.
my j-dub friends were like many non-j-dub .
teenage boys and would drive fast, drink beer or any other kinds of trouble you can think of.

my dear imaginative... (please fill in the blank),.
the moment i wake up, before i put on my...........slippers, another song title pops into my head!
there's been so much on the board lately about music, you know---"name that tune"---that it's only natural music's the first thing on my mind.
Hi Gaiagirl,
That's a good one! Apologies, also, to Leslie Gore! "You don't own me...don't tell me what to do, don't tell me what to say,...don't put me on display...." The possibilities are endless.
Songfully,

this old book is a little weather-beaten but may still serve for some information purposes.
many researchers wanted this book for the "charts" as well as other important quotes, that could be used in helping jehovah's witnesses to become free from the watchtower.
by the mid-1960s the society had apparently forgotten much of what it had learned about the hazards of setting dates.
Thank you Cabasilas and Atlantis!
I really appreciate your clarification as well as jogging my memory. I was at Bethel during this time period and had a small part in putting together the AID book. Yes, the information regarding Paul and Matthias did "revise" from the earlier version. Since I have only the complete version of the AID book, and neither the French nor English LIFE EVERLASTING books, I could not make comparisons and contrasts. I am impressed and pleased that any bit of information can be called up in such a timely manner. Thank you very much for putting some meat on the bones of my skeletal memories!
AID-ing one another spiritually, I remain,
Yours truly,

i got this new "all false religions going to end" tract put into my mailbox.
i guess coz of my country not being english speaking, there were only small sheet of it covered with these questions, what is false religion, bla bla bla.
what i noticed was funny thing, first they put down all the goverments and religions, and then ask question - which is true religion.
Greetings from sunny California, Shazard!
So wonderful to have contact with new friends, from all over the world! Yes, you are right: it is funny---strangely ironic---that outside sources need to be used to bolster any claim. Authenticity seems to me to be entirely self-sufficient and self-sustaining. The genuine article is good and pure and certainly does not seek verification and approval from the "enemy"! It makes me think of an individual who is very uncertain of himself and his qualifications but masks his insecurity behind a facade of bluster and bravado. Jesus Christ knew who he was and what he had to do; he moved ahead boldly. Neither Caesar nor the Sanhedrin were consulted for their sanction or blessing.
Thank you very much for your observation on this matter!
Yours truly,
CoCo
i understand that it was used originally in pagan temples!.
therefore,should a true christian(tm)use prefume?.
Hiya Badboy,
I told a friend, "I don't wear cologne."
She thought I had said, "I don't work alone."
Honestly, an unintended play on words!
Punnily yours,

ok, tonight i found out a family secret that only a few knew.
i had told my mom how i felt about the jw stance on blood, and mentioned how angry i was not knowing if my cousin could have been saved had he gotten a blood transfusion.
she finally told me tonight, when we were going to a seminar about lung cancer, that my cousin had indeed gotten a blood transfusion!
Dear JW Daughter,
I'm very sorry about the entire situation: your cousin's condition, the family's grief, and, importantly, your righteous indignation---or is it RAGE!?!? I'm struggling with this issue too, but now isn't the time to go there. Your thread caught my eye because I learned last night that my cousin has terminal lung cancer, which has already spread to vital organs. My bad news connected me to yours and so, at the very least, I am aware; none of us is alone in his or her grief. Blessings and love and peace to you and yours,
CoCo
Hello MadTiger,
The conversion of "one", to the "other", to another "other", equals happiness! Love to see kids smile! What's going on south of the border, amigo?

Hey Atlantis,
This book has very special meaning for me as it was my first brush with apostasy, in the days before apostasy! I hope I've got my titles correct---perhaps you can confirm. The revised version stated that Matthias became one of the twelve "as the lot fell upon" him. (Acts 1:26) The original version, however, had the apostle Paul serving as one of the twelve. In the French copy, though, it was still Paul (six months behind). Knowing the new light, I made a rather insistent point, while conducting, that what the poor West Indian friends were reading was not correct. Lead balloons go over much better than my "correction" did. It pays never to go ahead of the FDS!
I sit corrected,

i made breakfast and turned on the tv, my kids wanted to watch the thanksgiving parade.
and i got to thinking: thank god my parents weren't very good jws.
when i was a child we watched all of the holiday parade shows, all of the holiday cartoons, and tv specials.
Dear Mrs. Jones,
"Thank God my parents were not very good JWs."
Your words are very meaningful to me now, as the strict and unreasonable discipline dumped on the heads of the poor little kids slays me. Prefacing every interaction with the children with, "what would Jehovah think" or "don't make Jehovah sad" is way overboard. I wish some of us could go back and do it differently. I would be first in line, saying, "I am SO sorry! Let's try this again!" I am thankful, nevertheless, for all our blessings. I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! (my first year to say so officially)
Thankfully,
CoCo
